What Is Cloaking
Glossary
Cloaking is a method where the ad reviewer sees one thing, but real users see something else. It’s a way to “hide” your real content to pass moderation.
Why affiliates use cloaking:
- To promote offers that aren’t allowed on the ad network
- To bypass strict moderation (like on Facebook or Google)
- To protect high-performing funnels from spies
How it works:
- Moderators visit your link and see a “clean” landing page
- Real users are redirected to the actual offer or prelander
- The system filters based on IP, geo, browser, and more
Note: cloaking violates the rules of most ad networks. It can lead to bans — of your account, domain, or whole campaign.
